SUMMARY

Broken Gods Productions teaming up with ReportOUT to bring the voices, stories and creativity of the global LGBTQ+ community to The Wanstead Fringe 2024.

Performed by members of the LGBTQ+ community locally, the poems, monologues and creative writing submissions will be showcased at The Wanstead Curtain with a percentage of ticket sales being donated to ReportOUT to help fund their incredible work.

Since 2019, ReportOUT have been at the forefront of protecting the human rights of sexual and gender minorities in the United Kingdom and globally.

The submissions being performed at The Wanstead Curtain in this Broken Gods production will lay the foundations for a longer term campaign, culminating in a commission piece of verbatim theatre in 2025.

We are fearless, determined, and relentless in our belief that human rights are fundamental to advancing the lives of sexual and gender minorities, who make up some of the most vulnerable people across the globe.

The Team

Co-Producer - Charlie Heptinstall

Charlie threw himself into the arts at 16 where he was successfully involved in five back to back shows with the Theatre Royal Plymouth. This propelled him into seeking professional training and, after the National Youth Theatre and the National Youth Film Academy first gave him a stepping stone, he graduated from Mountview in 2020. With credits in EastEnders, True Things and Doctors, Charlie has also gone on to write his own shows and poetry which have motivated him to found Broken Gods Productions with a strong belief in supporting and entertaining the community.

Co-Producer - Calum McArthur

Calum trained at Mountview and is also a co-founder of Broken Gods Productions. Since his graduation he has written multiple projects including a short film nominated for First Time Filmmakers Best Short Film, which he also directed. Having supported young people at London youth acting groups, he made his professional directorial debut with Let Loose Sid. He now is Co-producing Dc Richard Head.
